Revisions #5- Location

In our original film, we used many locations. These included McIntosh Forest and Southside Elementary. When using McIntosh forest, suspense was added to the film, but it was only used to show a lapse of time while Jaxson was running. Moreover, the scenery was breath-taking, which didn't relate to our genre and plot. When using Southside Elementary, it was a fairly short scene, and added holes to the plot, as we had to keep in the time restrictions. Both of these locations took unnecessary amounts of time to travel to and added little to our plot, other then movement of time. With this, we struggled to remain in sunset lighting, as we had to travel separately to each location. Thus, during our re-film, we decided to remain at Christine's house, utilizing her side yard, which had thick brush. This allowed us to quickly switch scenes, while keeping fairly similar lighting. Moreover, without the excess traveling, our actors remained upbeat and cooperative. Furthermore, remaining in one location, allowed our film to be more believable. Jaxson is fairly young and the idea of him travelling a long distance without supervision was inconceivable in our previous film. Overall, our revision of limiting our filming locations, added realism and convenience during our production process.

Additionally, we added a scene at Sarasota High School to our film in our re-film. After deciding that we wished to make missing posters, we needed a place to pin up the posters for a short period of time. We thought about using a local pool space, but the most respectable thing we found to do was to use a empty board at out school. The hallway also added a brighter light and contrast to our film. Also since it would be after school, we could easily control who walked in and out of our shots. Moreover, for this same reason there was less background noise that would add distraction to our film. Overall, we felt the best place to use for our new final scene was Sarasota High School.
